This is what I would like to achieve; Let a user add his/her own feed, and then have their feed automatically imported. The user would be presented with a html form which posts to a php file. This php file in turn populates the 3daggregator db table, and requires the cron file to import the given feed. I have been using Feed Gator. There you can access the cron.php file, which would give the same result as doing an "Import all" from the back-end. There does not seem to be any way of importing just a single feed this way. I am guessing the cron.3daggregator.php file could work the same way? However, is it possible to pass a parameter to this file so that it would only import a specific feed? Is this possible to do with any of the 3d aggregator versions? -Or is there any other way of doing this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. |

Our cron file not execute all feeds like Feed gator "Import all"
In our components every rss feed has own setting and its started by own schedule. This make possible to make big site with hundred and thousand Scheduled feeds and not overload server. In this way Feed gator component is only for small projects and have issue with server load - you will pay more money for hosting if use Feedgator. Yes, is possible to add to our component more functions and function that some user can add custom rss feed for import but at this time this is not realized. We can do all for joomla, 3D Web Design have no secrets in Joomla development In this way we can do all by customer request but this will cost you about $120 (one working day development). For Your money you will get Platinum version with license for three domains and requested function inside. Thank you for the quick reply, and happy new year to you too
I am currently developing on a localhost (with MAMP), and one of the things I want to do before going live, would be to test the cron functionality. I donґt know much about crons, and I havenґt found too much information on how to set it up on MAMP. Hereґs what I tried: In terminal (on mac), I entered; /Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/curl -q localhost:8888/administrator/components/com_3daggregator/cron.3daggregator.php >> /dev/null Which then returned: % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 100 353 100 353 0 0 72843 0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:-- 88250 It definitely looks like something happened here:), but no articles seems to have been imported... (Mind you, the table is a bit skewed after pasting it here). Do you know where Iґm going wrong with this? BTW: Thank you for your offer:) Even if I donґt go for it, I will certainly donate for the continued development of this terrific software and for your great support |

I dont know how in MAMP and MAC crons work If path is right, may be this will work. What version you use, lite or pro? Hi again. Sorry for the late response. I am using the pro version. I am guessing that MAMP is the culprit here, so I don´t want to spend too much time trying to debug it. I will get the site online and let you know if the issue prevails. Thank you for you help:) |
