Hi i have joomla scraper and i try to import articles from an other RSS site into K2. But i have a problem understanding Starting and Ending string. I have problem with cron job too and i would like someone to help set up a full working example in order to see how it works.

Also i managed so far to get the titles and read more and the link to the other site not the article.

I have done that already but i get the article like this:

only the readmore and the title as link. What else shall i configure in order to get full article and its image ?

Also the K2 option shows the categories from joomla and not from K2

Note that scraper will not work in case of well secured rss feeds like this! See that domain is different and link is different every time. There is no rule to say aggregator "replace this.... with this..."

I am asking HOW at Demo site of yours that i was checking yesterday you were getting the full article and i get only the Title ??? I had copied the settings too.

CAN you please help me set up a WORKING example that will get the full article ?
I can send you via pm access to site in order to see it yourself and fix the error.

Also the K2 categories are showing categories from joomla and not K2.

Just open product page - Joomla Scraper

Requirements for Joomla Scraper:
You need latest Joomla 1.5.x or Joomla 1.6.x and PHP 5.2.xx or higher. Cron functionality is required for automatic work. Access to php settings of host ( php.ini ) is required in some cases. Recommended: memory_limit: 64 MB.

Or from email that i send you with extension - Recommended requirements of php for Scraper version are:

- access to php.ini settings
- max_execution_time = 120 (minimum 60 seconds will be needed to use scraper functions, i recommend you 120 to 300)
- memory_limit = 64M (64MB is minimum, i recommend you 128 mb or more)

The problem is in the wrong scraper settings. This feed won't work with these setting on our test site as well.

The correct ones are as follows:

1. Starting string: <h1
2. Ending string: </NYT_TEXT>
3. Leave the "Permalink - search for" and the "Permalink - replace with" fields empty.

Please note that the NYT use their own tags to mark content on their pages, i.e. </NYT_TEXT>. These tags are not recognised by your Joomla editor, who wrongly transfers the < and > chars from these tags into &lt; and &gt;, thus making these tags visible in the article (the browsers ignore them by default). So be careful if you edit an article with the Joomla editor.
