3 questions I would like to ask if you don't mind.

1. Does the aggregator have the ability to detect duplicate feeds? And how
do I enable this function?

2. Can you send me the cPanel cron job strings that are known to work.

My answer:

1. Hello, you need curl working on your cpanel. If curl is supported for Aggregator Pro this is command:

And for Aggregator Gold and Platinum this is command:

Many host companies does not support this. Decision is here: If Your Hosting Do Not Support Curl

2. To Aggregate By Keyword, to create one rss feed from many rss feeds and to filter feeds you can use free tool like yahoo pipes. This type of functions are not included in our aggregators because:
- yahoo pipes is great tool and work fine
- yahoo pipes not load your server
- yahoo pipes is free

I have checked my server cPanel and Curl is enabled.

I run platinum edition and used the following cron job: curl -sS "http://your-joomla-aggregator-site.com/administrator/components/com_aggregator/cron.aggregator.php" >> /dev/null

I removed: >> /dev/null to receive emails on progress. The cron job above did not work. I get an email saying "Import Finished" but it didnt import any of the feeds.

I also tried https://3dwebdesign.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=322 and this didnt work either.

What am I doing wrong?

It displays: "Import finished" but doesnt import the feeds. I have deleted & trashed 5 articles in Joomla backend that were imported successfully using import button in the Aggregator component. I have set the Curl cron job to every 5 minutes but still does not import the article feeds i previously deleted.

Component have cache of 30-60 minutes, import of only one feed over Button dont work before 30 minutes, and over cronjob - after 15 minutes.

Enter 3-4 rss feeds and try again. How is your memory_limit option of php? This version require min 32 mb, with translation of feeds - 64 MB. I recommend you min. 64 mb.

... and font forget: cron in current rss feed must be configured also.

Ok I have tried all this but still wont work.

What do I do next. Im very happy to give you access to Joomla Backend to see if I have this configured the component correctly. I can also send you the cron job string that im using in case im missing something. I can email the login details over to you to help me sort this out.

I have another question about Google Blog Search and pipes.

Can Google blog search urls be used in Yahoo pipes? I have tried using the url below in pipes but it does not work.

I dont know why - may be google block Yahoo pipes by htaccess or by ip.

Google dont like yahoo, like only google services

Its a embedded mp3 player. i tried feedgator and a few other rss grabbers that are free, but none of them import this player.

If you are sure that yourrs will do the job? ? Im Buying TODAY

Result is something like this (picture is from wordpress aggregator but the way is the same):




This may work in all websites but we need some rule where is player and video or flash to say aggregator to import them in html code of content.

I think no. No Embed code in rss feed.

Will work only if you know rule: url address -> embed code. Than You can enter this rule in html code "before item" or "after item" as plain html.

If you want, test with free lite version, but i'm sure that with lite this not work.
