I am using Post by Email 1.9.9, Joomla 3.3.6 and PHP 5.4.27.

I have ordered some custom work on Post by Email, but while waiting for this work to be done I have tested current version on Kunena Forum 3.0.6

I have configured Post by Email as adviced in your tutorial/guides (I think). The email address is set as Kunena "from" address in Kunena, the email address is working - I am able to send emails and picures to this email address inbox, cron is configured and working, server log gives no errors, joomla error reporting no errors, the joomla images/postbyemail folder is STILL EMPTY, and no posts show up in Kunena forum.

I scratch my head and wonder what could be wrong. Maybe I have configured incorrectly, but maybe there is some serverconfiguration not working? I dont know, hope someone can help.

I see now that this may be some error on the server. I just discovered the "IMPORT" button :-)....and when clicking that one I got the following error message:



I also tried the server providers recommandations for both port 110 and 995, and both gave similar errors. I know the username and password for the email account is correct set in Post by Email, so the error must be due to something else, but I don't know what that could be. If any of you have some idea, that will be nice. Anyway, I will also contact my server provider tomorrow.

OK, while waiting for response from my server provider, I testet setting up using a gmail account. What happens is the picture is downloaded and placed in images/postbyemail but is not published in the forum.....scratching my head.

This mean your site has no connection with email server. Many hosts have firewalls and on some servers port is not 110 - you must check in your email settings port first. Try also with ssl and port 995.

I have sorted out problems with the service provider. Now it PARTLY works, but not completely. I am able to manually send a picture from my Thunderbird desktop emailclient, and the picture will show up in the forum thread I have assigned for this purpose.

BUT, when my huntingcamera is sending pictures to the same configured email adress, then only the text part of the message shows up in forum, but the attached picture is not showing up, even though I can see that the picture is downloaded from the email server and placed in joomlaroot/images/postbyemail.

Do you have an email adress I can have my camera send to, so you can see the actual email and picture yourself, thus you can see if there is something wrong with the email format, or maybe tell me what configuration change I have to do in the module in order to have the picture show up?
