Good morning guys

I really need your help.I have serious problem with my site....I dont know how that happened but my sef url(sh404sef component) is destroyed ,some of them are working and some others doesnt, my site became very slow on the loading of the index and the loading of the articles.I am really freaked up with that.I am using the last version of your aggregator scraper to feed my site with articles and the procedure is slow as well.
The site is www.mysite.com the links on the top menu of site doesnt have a proper sef as you can see.... home,lifestyle,games ect and also if you guide in the articles of the site are extremely slow.....

I restored my backup but nothing changed. I found some tutorials in your forum about proper configuration of the sh404sef but the situation is the same.

ps the only changed i have done,i transfered my site to another better dedicated server for more speed and memory but the site became worst than before.

I really need your help and let me know how much money shall your help cost?

The answer:

When your site grow up, sh404sef generate many url addresses and addresses are written to database. In Cache size option of sh404sef you can enter number of url addresses to save them in cache file:

Number in this field must be not 10000, like default quantity. To be your site faster and light you must enter some other value.


Shared hosting with 64 mb memory_limit settings
- If your site is with about 1000-3000 content items enter in "Cache size" value about 1000.
- If your site is with about 5000 content items enter in "Cache size" value about 1500-2000.
- If your website is with about 10000-20000 content items enter in "Cache size" value about 2000-3000.

If you are on shared host and use sef components like sh404sef i recommend you to use memory_limit 128 mb!


VPS hosting settings with 128 mb memory_limit and more
- If your website is with more than 50000-100000 content items enter in "Cache size" value about 3000-5000.

If your web site is with more than 100000 content items? Dont use any sef component, use only standart joomla sef.


How to change this and how to refresh urls?

First enter in sh404sef config

Than tab advanced -> Activate URL cache: Yes. Cache size: enter here "1000" (or 2000 if your content items are over 20000)

click Save and than click on Purge SEF Urls

Open site and click one time in every menu to generate url addresses again.
