Problem is in parameter:

This mean no votes allowed!

Change it to:

And don't forget to delete cache files!

Check also plugin configuration, votes must be allowed and public:
Show stars: Yes.
Access level: Public.

You must create language file for your language and to place file in:

public_html/language/

For example file must be:

Take one file from folder "languages" inside plugin zip, rename it, translate it and upload file in joomla folder: /public_html/language

I just bought your plugin and I want to use it for rating of products which are placed in modules (its not a shop solution). How is that possible?
I don't want to rate a whole article so it makes no sense to place the stars at the top or end of a page.
I use Joomla 3.4.8

Yes, shortcode {plgMFV} is for old version - was content plugin. Latest version of microformats votes plugin is system plugin. You can try to parse content plugins in modules with activating option "prepare content" - YES. Option is in "options" tab settings in any Joomla module.

Only version plg_microformatsvotes_v3.6 for Joomla 3.0.zip probably can work with this, but we never test it.

That sounds rather difficult (I am not a programmer) and because you don't recommend the use of your old version it seems to make not at lot of sense that I use it.

Sorry, but we can't help you with this. On product description is not described that our extension will work in module. Is written: "is Joomla system plugin".

I check today - there is no solution at all to insert Joomla! system plugin in module. So, you probably need custom solution, with hacks over Joomla core - very risky and not recommended.

13.03.2020: V.4.1.4 for Joomla 3 released today: added new guide and changes for latest updates in Google and schema.org from January 21, 2020 (schema.org/Service and data-vocabulary deprecated for stars, changed to Product or CreativeWorkSeries). Now you will got your stars in Google SERP again!
