1) Can you somehow limit the number of articles that are collected from a single feed. For example, if I click on a single feed and then click Import, is there some way of telling it to only import five feeds? Or will it always import all the new feeds available? 2) Can you format images within the article? For instance, can you specify a width and/or length of the image display? Hello, Griz.
1) limit the number of articles that are collected at this time is not added as function in aggregator. Note that 3D Aggregator is really, really old component, free version and development of this extension is discontinued from over one year ago. New and best version is named com_aggregator - Joomla Aggregator Platinum is current version. You can see here all rss feed aggregators comparison. In this version is good working cache and no need of limit of items that are collected from aggregator. In example if some rss feed is updated at every 2 hours, you can configure aggregator to import this feed every hour - only new items will be imported in content of Joomla. 2) format images within the article - this again is not added, no in this way.  Com_aggregator have function to download pictures from external site and save internal, in your site. You can control html code of every content item - you can configure some picture to show in html code of every item and in html code is full control - width, heght and more. Thanks for the reply. By the way, I just found your software today, so I wasn't familiar with it. I'd definitely be interested in the Platinum version. But I just want to be sure I understand...
Sounds like image size can be specified for each feed by adding some html that applies to just that feed. Is that correct? One more question...can amount of time articles is saved be controlled? Or are they kept in database until they are manually deleted? |
