Very Long Rss Feeds In Aggregator, Niche Content, aggregate by keyword Options

Hi,

There is a mention in the forum that if we wish to filter incoming content by a Key Word then we should do this in Google Search.

Problem:
When I go into Google Search and use the advanced blog search parameters, the URL to the RSS feed is too long to paste into Aggregator Platinum.

FOR EXAMPLE:
URL provided by Google is (264 chars)

as you can see, the last few characters are not recorded in Aggregator Platinum......

How can this be fixed please?

There is a mention in the forum that if we wish to filter incoming content by a Key Word then we should do this in Google Search.

It would also be easier if we could aggregate content by key word from within Aggregator Platinum.... this could be implemented by the ability to filter by keyword through the rss feed, and would be far quicker to implement new feeds as you could then create one new feed, and then save a version of this feed ('save as') with the new keyword.

This would be quicker and easier than creating new feeds for each key word in Google Search and then creating them in AggPlatinum.

Yes, you are right - Lenght of characters in Rss feed in our aggregators now is 255 symbols.


If you are not an advanced member or programmer, dont touch anything! We modify component and you will receive fix at next update of aggregator - in max. 1-2 weeks.

Replace with 400 or 500. This will be ok.

Step 2. Modify database:

Change in jos_aggregator field feed

Now here is: varchar, 255. Change to: text and do not enter nothing in field number of symbols.
Thats it.


We fix this in next version of all types of aggregators.

Why we dont implemented this function and filters in our Aggregators?

If all these functions work on your server, Server become very high load. Yahoo pipes is great tool that:
