Sports Predictions, Scoring method used? Options

An early post suggests that the scoring method implimented for the accuracy of predictions is not configurable in the Joomla 3 version?

So what scoring method is used to mark user predictions?

All score prediction software I've seen often gives too much credit for the match result IMO.
Whereby if a game result is 3-3, a prediction of 0-0 is rewarded better than a prediction of 3-2. This IMO is unfair.

I would prefer to see something like this . . .

No prediction =0pts
Prediction made =5pts, this is modified when the actual result are entered

If prediction is incorrect
points awarded = 5 - (difference between predicted goals total and actual goals total)

If prediction is correct
points awarded = (5+2)

Bonus element (to encourage - and reward - braver predictions)
If prediction is correct AND total goals in the game > 2
points awarded is further increased by (total goals in the game - 2)

e.g. game result 2-2

no prediction = 0pts

predicted 1-1 = 3pts
predicted 2-0 = 3pts
predicted 0-0 = 1pt
predicted 2-2 = 9pts
predicted 3-2 = 4pts

Could this be implemented in your coding?
If not, does the program allow admin to manually enter the points awarded per game?

I'm sorry but I didn't understand the relevance of screenshot, it didn't reveal anything about the scoring methods used.

You say there's a pdf file inside the component's package ~ Is it possible then for admin to edit this to change things?
Any chance I could see an example of the file?

Screenshot is from config, is not about the scoring methods, yes.
Pdf file is inside the component's package. If you have valid subscription for Sports Predictions, you can open your zip archive - pdf is inside, in folder: "Joomla 3 version".
