Sports Predictions For Joomla, Sports Predictions Component for Joomla 3 / 2.5 Options

Hello, I purchased the component and installed that one for joomla 3. I think it all works properly, just one thing not. In the front end menu there ist the "User Standing" item. This one is not working, after clicking on it, I get this error message:

Fatal error: User id must be presented! in /home/bw005200/_sub/oko/components/com_sportspredictions/models/userstandings.php on line 291

Could you help please?

Configuration:
7. Form top menu navigate to "Components -> Sportspredictions"
8. From left side menu select "Teams"
9. Create at least two
10. Go to "Tournaments"
11. Create at least one
12. Go to "Sport Events"
13. Create at least one
14. Create menu items for front - end
15. Optionally configure component by choosing from component top menu "Options"

Button "Options" (global options for component) is firstly hidden, you need to create at least two teams and one tournament and one sport event first!

hello, I apologize for asking so many questions, usually they are important ones

I have set my joomla timezone to gmt +2

and all my game times are gmt +2, but there seems to be a difference of about 8 hours

so my games don't go off-line until 8 hours after game time

which means I have to be present at starting time of every game to take it off-line


I was looking for the instructions about time zone but couldn't find them, I remember seeing them somewhere

ok I just added my first result, it was a draw, but everyone who predicted draw got a pref rating of 0, is that possible? game was atletico real which finished 2-2, should people which predicted the game to finish 1-1 for example, get a pref rating more than 0?

You must change accuracy calculation method from simple to advanced. With simple method user must guess only margin to get minimum error of 0. With advanced method user must guess exact score to get minimum error.

also standings are not consistent, every time i go back to check them the order of players keep changing

in accuracy calculation method there is two options, normal accuracy and simple accuracy, i have normal accuracy, how do I switch to advanced method?

as for standings changing, yeah basically users that have the same pref rating keep changing positions in standings every time you check them, here is link

filip, when you go to sportspredictions component in joomla admin panel, you will see on the top right an options button, from there you can change accuracy calculation method. there is no method were player gets points, they get a pref rating based on a statistical formula, just go to the manual, it gives you the formula and some explanation. it is included in the zip file you download

well, the jist is, it gives you a rating based on how close your prediction was to the final result, the more accurate your prediction is, the lower your rating. so perfect prediction (exact score and winner) = 0 rating


the rating is calculated on three parameters from the look of the formula, a) predicting the correct team to win, B ) predicting the correct number of goals and c) predicting the correct score

Sports Predictions update for joomla 2.5 users!

Latest version for Joomla 2.5 is v.1.4.6. Changes:

1. By customer signal we detect that component content is not shown with some templates(The World News II - Gavick Template).
Problem was usage of CSS class with the same name(clear) in the component and template. This duplication was causing main content div of the template to be with visibility:hidden.

Issue is fixed by moving all content of all views in new scope.

New version of Sports Predictions for joomla 3.x is available.
Version number is 2.0.3 and is tested with latest joomla 3.2.3 and php 5.4.4

This update is only for joomla 3.x!

It have new important futures which are expected from a long time.

Control over front-end views is at absolutely new level!

Create standings or show games per category.
Create menus for each league.
Now "User Standings" will display currently logged user standings history.
You can choose on which criteria and in what order to calculate standings.
It is possible to create different types of standings.
All front-end views except "Sport Event" have new display options.
You can disable/enable filters per view.
Create menus for fixed or relative periods. For example you can create standings by tournament or standings for last month.
You can use this options when creating new menu items from sports predictions group. They are shown in "Display Settings" tab.

Fixed few minor bugs!
Improved routing. Example If you create menu "Sports Predictions -> User Standings" then this menu will be used as landing page from Standings view.
Improved css scope. Few classes like ".clear, .clearfix" are moved to .com_sportspredictions scope.

If no is selected then filters interface will not be visible for users.
1.2 Select Categories
Categories for whom standings are displayed. Choose at least one category.
1.3 Sort By
Parameters and order on which will be based sorting calculation.
You can drag and drop rows up and down to change priority.
Select ASC DESC to change order direction.
Choose cancel to cancel use of column.

1.3.1 Available columns are: yearmonth, is_vip, match_date, ordering, h_teams_score, g_teams_score
1.3.2 Info by column

1.3.2.1 "yearmonth" is numeric combination between year and month. For example "yearmonth" for date 2014-03-21 will be 201403.
This allows to group games by month but not by exact date. Read bellow to understand how this is useful.
1.3.2.2 "is_vip" is numeric and can be only 1 or 0. 1 means that this game is marked as vip. 0 means that this game is not marked as vip.
Default value for all games is 0.
1.3.2.3 "match_date" is time stamp of game start.
1.3.2.4 "ordering" is numeric and represents order or rows in administrator view. You can change this by manually ordering.
1.3.2.5 "h_teams_score" stands for "Host Team Score"
1.3.2.6 "g_teams_score" stands for "Guest Team Score"

1.3.3 How to use columns?
Example:
If you wish to display games ordered by date but to show vip games with advantage then you must:
Drag "yearmonth" as top most row.
Select desired sorting direction - DESC(newer games first) or ASC(older games first)
Drag "is_vip" under "yearmonth".
Select sorting direction DESC - DESC(vip first) or ASC(vip at the end)
Drag "match_date" under "is_vip".
Select desired sorting direction - DESC(newer games first) or ASC(older games first)

Explanation:
Column sorting affects rows only if they are not already sorted or are calculated as equal.

First sorting column is "yearmonth". This will group all games by month, but will leave place vip games to move forward.
All games will be sorted by month, but games from the same month will be considered as equal.

Second sorting column is "is_vip" DESC. This will display vip games at first places for each month.
This will affect only columns from the same month because first sort parameter is "yearmonth".

Third column is "match_date". This will sort all vip games, which are already at first place, by game date and then will order rest of the games by date.

1.4 Date Range
Period to display.
It can be exact date range or relative.
Example: if From is "-1 month" and To is set to "now", then user will see data for one month backward.

Smaller number means more accurate predictions and opposite. 0 is perfect.
3.3.2.3 "avg_error" is average error. Smaller is better. 0 is perfect.
3.3.2.4 "tot_error" is sum of all errors. 0 is perfect.
3.3.2.5 "wins_percent" is percent of wins from total games.
3.3.2.6 "wins" is number of wins.
3.3.2.7 "losses" is number of losses.
3.3.2.8 "games_played" is number, count total games.

3.3.3 How to use columns?
You can use "games_played" to find users that have played more games.
If tournament have start and end date, then sorting by "games_played" will give you players that have played maximum games.
After that you can sort them by other criteria.

Hi.

There is bug with latest version for joomla 2.5

If I choose to have just 1x2 predictions with tabs, when I change tab, predictions are turned into scores predictions.
The same happens if I click on Sports Events again.

Is there a way to show extended standings (like how many games played, won etc) or do I have to modify the code?

This is a lot of basic functionality missing from this component. Maybe you should have a look at vbsoccer for vbulletin which is similar to this component but has all the functionality needed to run a proper competition (it's only drawback is that it does not have 1x2 predictions which I need)

I dont know about verson 2.5, but the joomla 3 version has very detailed standings, including played, won and lost


also if you think component has a bug just let 3d design know, they always fix the problem for free

Thanks to @sveltosss we found and fix minor bug in Joomla 2.5 version - in 1x2 game with tabs enabled.

If you wish to fix it manually follow this steps:

1. Open "\components\com_sportspredictions\views\matches1x2\tmpl\default_tabs.php"

How to use sorting in sports predictions >= 2.0.3 for joomla 3.x


1. You have two directions
1.1 ASC - stands for "Ascending". This will order from smaller to bigger
1.2 DESC - stands for "Descending". This will order from bigger to smaller

2. You have sort priority. Sort priority is defined by position of the criteria from top to bottom.(see pictures)
Criteria with lower priority is used only when two or more rows are equal by criteria with higher priority.

Example data:

id=1, name=aav, score=1
id=2, name=abv, score=1
id=3, name=abc, score=2
id=4, name=abc, score=6

If sort is by "id" ASC result will be 1,2,3,4
if sort is by "score" DESC result will be 4,3,2,1
If sort is by "score" DESC and "name" ASC result will be 4,3,1,2
-- Here rows 1 and 2 are with equal score and are sorted by name
If sort is by "name" ASC and "score" DESC result will be 1,4,3,2
-- Here rows 3 and 4 are with equal names and are sorted by score

3. You can use many as possible criteria for sorting to ensure that there is no rows equal by all used criteria.
