Automatic Posting In Post By Email, How long? Options

After sending an email, how long does it take for the email to be automatically posted? Is it instant? I've been waiting for ages.

This is taking me 2 days because you don't have any clear documentation as to what must be done. I've just sent another email and yet again it's not posting immediately. It only posts if I click on import and the idea is not to log into the joomla admin panel.

Can you PLEASE help with this?

Send us login data for admin and detailed description of problem on our email. Must be sent from email used in your order.

We don't need the login data for your site. You need to set up a cron job:

/administrator/components/com_post_by_email/cron.post_by_email.php

If you intend to call the cron file through HTTP, you need to comment out the following line both in the cron file and in the controller.php, function cron():

Thanks, but when I look at my ftp files, there are not files under that directory.

Component is working, just your joomla is broken.

If you don't have file /administrator/components/com_post_by_email/cron.post_by_email.php:

1. INstall extension again
2. If again there is no file: May be your joomla is not weel configured (tmp path) or your folders don't have file write permissions. Check it from menu System Information

NO. Check path to tmp folder in configuration.

If you can't install well extension over joomla installer, install and after this upload files over ftp. This will upload other files that are not uploaded.

How do you activate cron? What happened when you open url:

I say many times in more than 10 topics in this forum: cron can be exectuted in 2 ways -over url or over curl function (or over php function) in cron control panel in your hosting.

Just read info about how to activate cron job on oficial guides page of this component - code is present on page. But is needed to be read.

Work everywhere. If you can't activate cron (the only one reason can be if you dont know paths), ask your host provider support team.

After setting well cron, just test - work or not? If not, activate joomla error reporting and read my signature. You probably don't see all BIG spam in every post in this forum - my signature. The only one way to receive help is there. But this way can be used only if with activated error reporting there is present error.

Ok, thanks for this. But if you have ONE document with a step by step instruction on how to do this, this would have been much easier for someone who does not have that level of technical experience. From reading the joomla extension page, it sounds like this component works out of the box.

I've changed the subject line multiple times and I still get this error.

Can someone help please?
