If you open the email before PBM retrieves the message, the pictures are oriented correctly. But when PBM retrieves the message, the pictures are either on their side (requiring a clockwise rotation of 90%) or completely upside down requiring a 180% flip. I can't find any way to change this in the HTML code...any ideas? |

There is no way - in postbyemail is no code to change pictures, why you think we have need to do this The issue lies in the EXIF image information generated by the iPhone/IOS devices. I assumed because you had an "iPhone" mode in the settings that this might be something you had knowledge of. I have found that with ImageMagik and the like that it is possible to read the EXIF orientation and make changes to the image based on that. I just need to find out where the image processing occurs during the import and inject the code there. We're also adding a notification reply email to the process so that the sender and site admin gets a notification that a post has been received and needs moderated, etc. Thanks for your input. |

"iPhone" mode is just other type of code formatting. Picture is not touched (there is no thumbnail generation).
This is the way of work of Iphone mode (copy from version history): Цитат 18.09.2012 - v.1.6.2 - added is Iphone mode for posted from Iphone emails with images (Joomla 2.5 version only). There are two new settings: mode and concatenation html. Mode = Default means that the component will work as it worked by now: the last part of the message, which is not an attachment, will be set as a content of the resulting article; the rest will be ignored. E.g. if you have an e-mail with two variants of the message (plain text and HTML), the plain text variant will be ignored and the HTML variant will be set as the article's body. Mode = iPhone means that no part of the message will be ignored. All these parts will be concatenated using the HTML code, set in the concatenation html setting (e.g. <br />, <hr />, etc.).

I am having the same issue with a number of photos emailed from an iPhone coming through sideways (90 degrees rotation). Did you find a permanent solution? We are using the component only from the iPhone, so this is critical for us. |

There is no way - in postbyemail is no code to change pictures, why you think we have need to do this It's needed because the EXIF data from iPhone photos don't play nice with either your component or Joomla or both, and it's too bad because emailing articles with photos attached from iPhones is a huge part of the attraction of a component like yours. I hope you can make it work somehow. More on the issue: Код http://www.daveperrett.com/articles/2012/07/28/exif-orientation-handling-is-a-ghetto/
