Post By Email - Attachment Bug? Options

Hello,

if Post by Email is set to keep emails in the inbox, attached images are saved to server each time the cronjob is triggered.
In just two days I had thousands of unused images on my server!
- Is there a way to change the code that images with the same name are overwritten?
- I would like to send google kmz-files to a folder on my server - it's not working although I add the extension in the PbE configuration. Is there a way to do this?
