For users that use component version 2.x for joomla 3!

There is new update for version 2. Some bugs are fixed!

New vesion is 2.0.2

Changes are:

Start day of the week now can be configured only to Monday or Sunday.
This is because mysql server accepts only one of them for start day of the week.

Updated date picker initial date. Fixed bug when jquery datepicker must parse incompatible date format.

Updated display period in user standings. Fixed bug with displayed period!

Is updated only Sports Predictions version for joomla 3!

I have the version of joomla 3.0.2, the version of Sports Predictions 2.0.2 (it is bought and installed on December, 1st) .With old versions of this component never work before.
Probably I have not found the manual, ...not screenshots, with the description that is that, but procedure.
How the user on Front End should give Predictions? The button SAVE is absent, though for earlier versions I found it in the description.
Where set up of points for properly guessed versions are made...?
It is a lot of questions, answers are not or prompt where to look for.

Here are your answers:

1. How to set up points? You have points configuration in admin

2. How user can give their prediction? User gives prediction on "make prediction" page (only logged in users can place predictions)

In joomla 3 prediction is saved over ajax - there is no save button -

In joomla 2.5 prediction is saved over save button

Please your help,

The component functions smoothly, except for one thing, which I can not come.
I tried adding matches and then preferred. Everything is fine, except that the points entered in the current standigs I do not know how to delete.
Deleting a user also did not help. Deleting matches or tournament also did not help. I tried to reset score in the settings, but it also did not help. Points this user are always there. Thanks for your help.

Iasak, for joomla 3 version: install plugin plg_sportspredictions_event_delete_user_J3.0.zip. For joomla 2.5 version: install plugin sp_delete_plugin-Joomla 2.5.zip.

If you delete some user, this plugin delete user activity.

According to what you have written I have approached the issue as follows to verify whether it works correctly:

At first I have deleted a component "com_sportspredictions-1.4.3 for Joomla 2.5 - new 1x2 game.zip". Then I have installed it back again. By that step I have erased the score. After that I have installed module:"mod_sportspredictions_stats-Joomla 2.5.zip" and modul: sp_delete_plugin-Joomla 2.5.zip

After the user has been created and subsequently after logged in I have made some bets for created matches. I have edited the match and added the result. The system worked out the points and these points were assigned to the user. Then I have deleted the user but the points remained. Reset score does not work either. Can you advice where the problem might be.

2. In this point I want to ask about "predictions history". Is it possible to set the signed user in a way so he can see just his bets and not the others bets. It means that these bets will be revealed for all users after the match will commence ... Thank you for any advice in advance.

Hi,

thanks for great extension!

I have some development suggestions (1x2 game, because thats what I'm using):
-Possibility to see percentages of made predictions on the event-page (percentage or number of predicitions on each value)
-Also, it would be nice to have 1x2 game on J3 version, because it has team/player info page and J3 is much more user friendly smile.gif

hello, thank you for a great extension

i have a slight issue with 2.02 version

i think i did something wrong, i add games and the order is upside down, game that starts firsts is at the bottom of the list, and obiously game that starts last is at top of the list

how can i fix this?

Which joomla version do you use? If you use v3+ go to component options and take a look at "Ordering of Games".

ok thanx i got it, another problem i have is that sportspredictions theme causes some problems, for example login button takes the theme of component even though i dont want it to, but i guess the css clash and it has a weird hover effect as well

had to put no theme to sportspredictions but it says it might cause problems, is there a way to chose a theme that wont affect other modules?




also, what does abs mean in the formula for calculating standings?

- Login is not showing up
- How can I change Language
- Where can I set following options: (Exact prediction points, Winner points difference.....)?
- Is there a possibility to select column to show in Standings table?

Login is required only on predictions page. See screen-shot bellow.




Translation?
1. Go to "\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_sportspredictions.ini"
2. Copy this file to "\language\Desired-Language-Code\Desired-Language-Code.com_sportspredictions.ini"
For example Bulgarian will be "\language\bg-BG\bg-BG.com_sportspredictions.ini". Folder must exist if you already have installed language support for this language.
3. Translate all text to right hand side. Be careful with quotes! Words between {} brackets must not be translated. They will be replaced with appropriate values at runtime.
4. Send us translations! We will be graceful.

Points earned are calculated by algorithm. You can choose from "normal_accuracy" and "simple_accuracy" in option named "Accuracy Calculation Method".

There is NO possibility to select column to show in Standings table

This can be caused by javascript error somewhere in code of any module plugin or component.
Here on testing server works fine under Internet Explorer 8+ and other modern browsers.
If you need help with this I need access to FTP and administrator panel.

Logic of algorithm

Logic of algorithm. Bellow are two functions. They can be found in file "\administrator\components\com_sportspredictions\models\game.php" around line 566.

Idea is to achieve proportional reduction of error for any sport.
If user prediction is closer to final result smaller value will be returned.
Lower result is better than bigger. Zero means exact match.
Difference:
With simple method zero is returned when user predicts exact score or exact margin.
Normal method returns zero only when exact score is predicted.

What does the "PREf rating" means?

ABS returns always positive number?
Example: abs(3-10)=7, abs(10-3)=7

Stylesheet has CSS Scope to ".com_sportspredictions" class. If your login module is inside element with this class you must overwrite unwanted css rules with !important marker in other stylesheet.

However there is possibility for clashes even without this class. Good choice will be to add jquery and jquery ui directly into template and disable them from sportspredictions options. In this way your site will gain loading speed. You can even use one from google cdn.

Tested versions are:
jquery-ui-1.10.3
jquery-1.9.1
